Recorded over two days at Motion, this afternoon you can tune into the first online event from Bristol’s bass experts The Blast – and they’ve gone all out.

Presenting nine hours of bass music, the event is headed up by drum and bass royalty Kings of the Rollers (Voltage, Serum and Bladerunner) and resident MC Inja, with a very sturdy entourage including S.P.Y and Jubei, plus a slew of Blast residents and local favourites: Sir Hiss, Durkle Disco with Koast B2B NGAIO and Slowie, Jaydrop, K Stylz, Georgia and Shaboom, plus Jakes on mic duty.

Although we’ve all been gratefully enjoying a steady series of live-streamed living room gigs and DJ sets in recent months, as the venue lockdown continues to stretch out before us indefinitely, The Blast have stepped in and brought some their world-renowned party production to our screens.

The Blast have been going the extra mile with their parties for more than 15 years

The Blast have been going the extra mile with their parties for more than 15 years, and their first online event is no different. Just like you might do at one of The Blast’s huge day parties that have become synonymous with Bristol summertime, you can enjoy an outdoor boogie to a variety of sounds from the likes of K Stylz, Sir Hiss, J Drop and Durkle Disco before the sun sets on Motion’s  riverside stage.

Later, things move indoors into the Motion warehouse. Taking full advantage of Motion’s sound capabilities, with full-on production including visuals, S.P.Y is first to take the warehouse stage with MC Jakes from 8pm, followed by a two hour set from Kings of the Rollers with Inja; with Jubei bringing us through to midnight.

Newest Blast resident Georgia kicks things off with her set on the riverside stage from 4.30pm. She tells us: ‘Anyone that’s been to Motion, whether they’re Bristolian or from elsewhere in the UK, will know that it’s the heart of underground music in the city. It’s the venue where I fell in love with raving, so it’s the perfect place to represent our music.

‘It’s important to showcase the range of genres that call Bristol home; we’re proud to showcase a wide range in this stream with something for everyone – you might even stumble across something new! Really excited to show you what we’ve been working on over the last few months…’

The Blast will also be running competitions, releasing exclusive info on upcoming shows and a lots more, so make sure you tune in. Stream the event  from the Facebook event page from 4pm, as well as over on NITELIFE.  See you there!
