Last week, Bristol-based promotions giants The MJR Group announced a series of major concerts to take place in a new outdoor space in the St Philips Marsh area, across the water from Motion.
Their first lineup announcement included British reggae giants UB40, pop trio Future Islands, Texas with Imelda May and The The.
A second wave of acts was announced today, including Bananarama, James Arthur and the iconic Shirley Manson’s Garbage; not to mention a massive opening concert on 22 June featuring Echo and the Bunnymen, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Peter Hook and the Light.
Excitement is mounting for the events, which are still somewhat shrouded in secrecy
Excitement is mounting for the events, which are still somewhat shrouded in secrecy, while we wait to discover what crops up at St Philips Gate this June. Organisers have hinted that Skyline will be about more than just the music, with a food village offering street food and restaurant pop ups, as well as VIP bars offering much more than your standard tent-bought Tuborg; with craft beer, fizz and cocktails on offer across a number of bars.
A number of Skyline concerts will also be taking place in Birmingham’s Digbeth Arena, although MJR’s HQ city is enjoying a much fuller calendar from the looks of things so far.
Tickets for first wave announcements are on sale now and range between £27-£45. Second wave announcement tickets go on sale this Thursday 15 February, and you can pre-register for tickets here.
