The sun has finally shown itself and so has our summer festival hankering. Right on cue, one of our favourite all-day parties has released their first wave lineup announcement.

Returning to Motion’s back yard this July for a third year running, Sequences Festival is the brain child of Bristol bass heads The Blast. They’ve hooked up with industry powerhouses Deep Medi, Bandulu Records and Critical Sound to deliver their best lineup yet for 2018, with some huge names alongside fresh emerging talent.

The Blast themselves will be looking after the main stage, bringing in Mobo award-winning rap artist and DJ Shadow collaborator Mist to headline. Joining him on the bill is Dublin rapper Rejji Snow, Levelz core crew member Chimpo, and Bristol’s own next big thing, LUCY – who will be showcasing her brilliant blend of grime and dreamy atmospheric dubstep. Not forgetting very special guest, UKG-meets-house producer Holy Goof.

Drum and bass majors Critical will be returning with Critical Sound for a hat trick takeover of the second area. They’ve invited mighty Dutch trio Noisia to headline with a DJ set, along with Mefjus, Ivy Lab, Sam Binga and a special B2B set from Foreign Concept and QZB, plus a set from Critical head honcho himself, Kasra.

Joining forces on the third area are dubstep luminaries Deep Medi and Bristol grime crew Bandulu. Appearances from the whole Bandulu gang take the shape of Kahn and Neek, Hi5ghost and Boofy, plus honorary member Commodo with emerging producer and firespitter Rocks Foe. Medi are bringing in label boss Mala, certified man of the moment Egoless, and Compa; with Mungo’s HiFi warming things up with a DJ set.
