Previously getting better year on year, it only makes sense that this year’s In:Motion series stands to be our best one to date. Running from the end of September right up to New Year, In:Motion is Bristol’s answer to The Warehouse Project, bringing in huge names from all across the electronic sphere and lending a little light to the end of our summers each year.

Organisers yesterday announced the opening weekend parties on 29 & 30 September, and if they’re anything to go by, we are in for a busy 12 weeks…

Motion head promoter Jack Scales tells Nitelife, ‘We’re extremely excited to roll out the opening parties for this year’s In:Motion. It sets the pace and tone, while offering a good preview of what’s in store for the rest of the season.’

Taking the stage on Friday 29 September will be  Bronx-based house duo and esteemed DC10 residents, The Martinez Brothers. They’ll be joined in the main room with Jackmaster and one of the Netherlands’ most exciting new talents in bass-driven house music, William Djoko.

Out in the warehouse house you can catch house superstar Black Coffee and  DJ/producer/vocalist and all-round legend Kim Ann Foxman. Meanwhile, in the tunnel you can see some more Netherlands house talent in the shape of Benny Rodrigues and De Sluwe Vos, plus LA producer Lauren Lane, and Bristol-formed house music duo Cousn.

Saturday’s lineup gets even bigger, bringing together the very best in underground UK bass music, alongside some of the best MCs – including special guest D Double E –  all courtesy of one of our favourite collectives, The Blast.

The main stage will deliver some of our favourite longtime collaborators, My Nu Leng and Dread MC, and original dubstepper Caspa with Riko Dan. You can also catch Matt Jam Lamont B2B Conducta and B-Live, rap duo Young T and Bugsey, Barely Legal and Bristol UK funky-garage-grime producer Notion.

In the warehouse, The Blast bring us a drum and bass takeover, featuring legends in the game Breakage and Krust, as well as Cyantific B2B Insideinfo, Kyrist, TS2W and a yet-to-be-announced special guest.

There’s also Bodynod’s takeover in the tunnel, featuring grime DJ and Rinse FM veteran Logan Sama, a bassline set from Swifta Beater and Blazey Bodynod himself.

We’ll keep you posted when the full In:Motion series is released at the end of July. For full info and tickets to the opening parties, head over to bristolinmotion.com.
