Anyone will tell you that Shindig is a family affair. Despite growing year on year, the south west festival remains a haven for likeminded partygoers to let loose and bask in the feel-good atmosphere, community spirit and all-round fun – with an increasingly impressive music lineup serving as a big fat bonus.

First release tickets are usually snapped up before even a sniff of the lineup is revealed, and there’s a good reason why. Shindig is the brainchild of award-winning record label Ghetto funk, who never fail to tick every festival box, including a groove-busting lineup.

Starting life as an online blog and record label, Ghetto Funk is a collaboration between Will Lardner and Goodgroove Records’ Simon Clarke. Before long, they had established ghetto funk as a genre amongst likeminded music lovers with an appreciation for party breaks.

As its popularity grew, Will and Simon set up the Ghetto Funk Nightclub as a touring festival venue, gracing the likes of Glastonbury and Shambala with their funky beats. By summer 2014, it only made sense to give birth to their own event, which has grown into what we now know and love as Shindig Festival.

This year’s Shindig will be an extra special one, as Ghetto Funk will be celebrating their 10th birthday party with a huge label showcase across the whole weekend in the Ghetto Funk Nightclub. Bringing together a selection of huge artists with either releases on Ghetto Funk or close family ties, acts announced so far include: Chali 2NA and Krafty Kuts; Stanton Warriors and Dread MC; A Skillz; Stickybuds, Ed Solo and JFB; Too Many T’s and many more.

All that’s on top of a wider festival lineup that includes Goldie, Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B, Greg Wilson and The Cuban Brothers, as well plenty of workshops, activities and games – including Shaun the Sheep model making workshops with Aardman.

In another bonus twist, Shindig Festival is also moving to a new home at Somerset’s Dillington Estate when it returns for the May bank holiday, setting up camp on the beautiful parklands surrounding the 16th Century house (with an upmarket hotel on site for those wanting to Shindig in the lap of luxury).

To celebrate new digs, a new decade and their biggest lineup to date, we’ve teamed up with Shindig Festival to give away a pair of adult tickets, along with boutique bell tent camping for two. You can view the full lineup so far, or secure your tickets over on
