DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards took place at EGG London last night and Bristol headed in strong, with at least one nomination in every category.
The results are in and, as always, Bristol proved it can punch well above its weight in the industry. Alfresco Disco scooped Best Club Event. Launching in 2005, the nomadic party-throwers have turned traditional event promotion on its head, by keeping their lineup and location top secret until you get there.

Currently ranks 16th best in the global stakes, Motion last night received the prize for the UK’s Best Large Club. The converted warehouse regularly brings in the globe’s biggest underground artists, as well as cutting edge on-the-rise artists, influential label takeovers and festivals.
The next few weeks alone brings us Flying Lotus, Patrick topping, SASASAS and Skream, and they’re going into next year stronger than ever with the likes of Dusky, Andy C, Noisia, Holy Goof and John Hopkins already in the diary.
