Returning in characteristically kooky style, Balter Festival have announced a huge line up for their seventh instalment this summer, from 29 May to 1 June at Chepstow Racecourse. Born out of Bristol’s thriving party scene and annually uniting ravers, party-goers and artists alike, Balter’s communal ethos blooms from a genuine love and appreciation of unique eclectic music.
2020 sees Balter boasting headliners The Four Owls (High Focus legends with a brand new album on the horizon), Slamboree, Smerins Anti-Social Club, Too Many T’s, Pengshui and Popes Of Chillitown. Other exciting acts to catch include Bristol contingent Snazzback, Waldo’s Gift (reworking the tunes Aphex Twin) and DJ Hiphoppapotamus. Plus, back and taking over Sunday once again will be Rumble in the Jungle vs Dub Shotta (Benny Page, Dope Ammo, DJ Hybrid) in an ultimate, weekend-closing soundclash.

This year, attendees can also enjoy an additional three new stages at Balter. After playing the festival since its inauguration, Sheffield’s infamous bassline and nutty rave crew, Off Me Nut, will be curating their own programme of artists on a brand new stage. Plus, The Northern Embassy will be ‘celebrating all things Northern’, whilst Apollo 23 will be the site’s home of techno goodness.
Amidst the broad genre-spanning music on offer over the weekend, Balter will be sure to deck the festival out with immersive performance art, great food, cheap drinks and, of course, a vibrant, fun-loving atmosphere – no matter the hour.
