In just a few years, Balter Festival has gained a reputation for being one of the most fun parties on the UK festival scene. Combining eclectic underground electronic and live music, Balter brings together everything from 12-piece ska-punk bands to heavy DnB, whilst also showcasing new talent and unique sub-genres.

Now in its fourth year, this off kilter festival will be setting up camp just across the bridge once again at Chepstow Racecourse, with a lineup that surpasses its own already-high standards. The main stage, known as The Caravan, will be headlined by the legendary UK ska band King Prawn. Celebrating a new album release after 24 years in the biz, their rare performance will kick off the first of only a handful of festival dates. Other headline spots at this charismatic outdoor stage include Balkan-inspired skanksters The Baghdaddies, and African-funk-reggae fusion band K.O.G the Zongo Brigade – so you can be sure to have a memorable dance in the sun whilst sipping on an ice cold bevvy.

Bringing their travelling skate ramp and resident graffiti artists, SIKA studios will be hosting the ultimate UK hip hop stage

Bringing their travelling skate ramp and resident graffiti artists, SIKA studios will be hosting the ultimate UK hip hop stage with headliners including Devilman, Deadly Hunta, My Bad Sister, Danja, Holly Flo Lightly.

24hr Garage Girls will also be hosting a stage, bringing banging bassline, garage and their infamous Human Car Wash – for a proper garage rinse out – as well as a crew including Rico Tubbs, Vital Techniques, Mikey B & Phatworld. And, filling the third stage takeover is Irie Bingo who will be providing bass-heavy dub and reggae with the No Ice Cream  soundsystem alongside Dubmatix & Charlie P, YT & Gardna with Kelvin 373.

Other stages include Jigsore, The Hex, The Drawing room and Buckyham Palace. Here you’ll find some of the heavier underground electronic music, with many DJs flying in from around Europe. Acts this year include Alix Perez, Break, Skeptical, A Skillz, Vandal B2B Mandidextrous, Limewax, DJ Producer, Ed Cox, Benny Page, Sam Binga and Dutty Moonshine.

Elsewhere, you can lose your mind while watching naked nutters wrestle in paddling pools of super noodles

Elsewhere, you can lose your mind while watching naked nutters wrestle in paddling pools of super noodles. And, while the festival states is strictly over 18s, you can expect plenty of fancy dress and all round fun and games. Basically, this festival allows you to drop your inhibitions and skank your heart out for a few days… whilst enjoying the most ultimate soundtrack to your journey.
