BBC 6 Music presenter, Worldwide FM founder, label head and world renowned record fanatic, Gilles Peterson has announced a Bristol show this October.
With a leaning toward world-influenced music spanning soul, jazz, hip hop, house, electronica and more, he has some 30,000 records in his collection and the attentive ears of the world circuit: a Gilles Peterson-approved record is off to a very good start.

Gilles Peterson’s record label Brownswood Recordings has brought us some crucial releases in the past few years, including Swindle’s seminal No More Normal, which blew our minds when it dropped at the beginning of this year; and 2018’s We Out Here compilation featuring Ezra Collective, Nubya Garcia, Hutchings, Maisha, Moses Boyd, Theon Cross and more – which he’s following up with the first We Out Here festival in August, featuring a live set from Bristol’s own Kayla Painter, a graduate of his Future Bubblers programme.
Gilles is being brought back to Bristol by the Fiesta Bombarda crew, after his last jaunt to Thekla took the title of Fiesta’s fastest-selling show.

This time Gilles will play Anson Rooms, supported by Cool Beans’ DJ Chris Arnold, whose combined love of music, comedy and most genres under the sun has helped his events spread across the UK. His entertaining DJ sets have earned him a place on lineups with the likes of Rudimental, MJ Cole, Jamie XX, Jaguar Skills and The Correspondents.
Gilles also be joined by DJ Raggamuffin, whose blend of classic reggae with surprise modern twists has made her a favourite on the South West reggae scene. We don’t expect tickets to stick around for long on this one!
