Since 2011, Fred Perry Subculture has been exploring British subculture, inviting groundbreaking artists like King Krule and Clean Bandits! to play at The Garage in London.

For their first Bristol outing, Fred Perry Subculture invites two innovators of the local soundsystem scene – Eva Lazarus and Gardna – to perform a live and intimate in-store show at Fred Perry, Cabot Circus.

It’s no secret we’re major fans of Bristol soundsystem MC Gardna. He released one of our favourite EPs of the year, Gardna X Kreed to follow up 2016’s breakthrough track Sunday; and his label Boom Sound continues to bring us dub and dancehall-heavy tunes and parties – including the upcoming Boom Sound x Mungo’s Hi Fi terrace party at Colston Hall.

His forthcoming collaboration with Gentleman’s Dub Club and Nextmen saw him perform live with dub giants GDC on Tokyo World’s main stage last weekend, with no doubt more big plans in the pipeline.

Singer, songwriter, MC, Konichi-Wah-Gwarn Records label owner – and another Nitelife favourite – Eva Lazarus has also had a huge impact on the local scene, pushing her own take on drum and bass well before its recent mass revival, with her brilliant blend of soul, dancehall and drum and bass.

Her own recent major collaboration with Mungo’s Hi Fi has also brought her global recognition, with an upcoming Australian tour this winter.

Eva and Gardna have been sharing stages at festivals and events across the country the past year, and their collaboration on Gardna’s track My Show was no doubt one of Bristol’s party tunes of the summer.

We’re excited to be part of the intimate show at the Fred Perry Bristol store next week, which will see Eva and Gardna sharing the stage, with Fat Stash DJs on rotation from 5pm until 10pm. Look out for us taking some snaps and making shapes on the dancefloor. RSPV on the Facebook event.
