Malian desert blues group Songhoy Blues formed in Bamako after being forced to leave their homes in Timbuktu, Mali during the imposition of Sharia law and resulting civil conflict. Their debut album Music In Exile blew up around the world, released initially on Transgressive Records, with a partnered North American release on super major Atlantic.
They’re back with their 2017 follow up album Resistance, coming to Anson Rooms for what is bound to be a very special show.
