At the beginning of March, we announced a major competition in partnership with NASS festival to find a DJ talent worthy of a set on one of their main stages, alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.
NASS has come at us with it’s biggest lineup yet for 2019, including Rudimental, Giggs, Cyprus Hill, Loyle Carner, Pendulum, Redlight and drum and bass supergroup SASASAS, Grandmaster Flash and General Levy. Today, they dropped a fourth lineup announcement, adding the incredible Kojey Radical, Tom Misch and Yxng Bane to the bill.

More than 70 DJ hopefuls uploaded an original 20-minute mix to SoundCloud for their chance to play to thousands of potential new fans at NASS 2019. We put it to the public to choose our five finalists, who went through to stage two of the competition – a judging panel made up from the NASS booking team, NASS artists and Nitelife to decide the overall winner.
We are delighted to announce Jemima Nettleton aka DJ VU is our winner and will play a set on either the Southbank, Warehouse, The Hangar or The Lock In at NASS 2019. You can listen to winning mix in full above and hear some feedback from the judges below –
Mike Lightford (NASS Director of Music)
The energy in all mixes was really apparent and it was difficult to pick an outright winner, but her balance of tune selection and some choice transitions gave her the edge.
DJ Jonezy (Beats / 1Xtra)
Selection and mixing was on point, and loved he intro’d the mix with Insane in the Brain – that first transition was heavy!
DJ VU stands out as an exciting up-comer!
Charlie G (NASS Programmer)
Highly impressed with the energy and freshness in the mix, having programmed the drum and bass stages of NASS for over 10 years and heard many mixes, DJ VU stands out as an exciting up-comer!
We loved the variety of DJ VU’s entry, that coupled with her mixing ability and some slick transitions really set her apart.
