Homegrown talent Darren C has been making quite a name for himself on the dance music scene lately, from infectious groove-ridden releases that have garnered strong support in the tech house and techno charts, to residencies here in Bristol, the DJ/producer is on many radars.
He will be joining his not-so-secret weapon Terry Bird at Blue Mountain on the 23 December for a HOME events Christmas special, where they’ll be sure to deliver their no-nonsense tech house infused sets. Darren C has treated Nitelife to an exclusive hour-long guest mix so if you’re itching to find out what to expect from the event, then today is your lucky day (listen above).
Helping them countdown to the big day will be headliner Kydus. Guests will also be completely spoilt with some top Bristol talent in the shape of Topof, Robert Van Ryn and GEMINUS.

If that wasn’t enough, HOME will also be hosting a very special surprise upstairs in the Loft as they join forces with WERK for a special collaboration featuring familiar faces Scott Peter Elliot, Paranino, Shawn Fleming, WeeMan DJ, Ollie Higgs, Lloyd Kelsall and Massiz.
To make sure we’re all fully in the Christmas spirit, Blue Mountain’s main room will be overhauled to represent a gothic winter wonderland, while the loft is converted into a full blown technicolour Christmas party.
The event is anchored by annual summer festival HOME, founded by Terry Bird, with Darren C as a resident – two veterans of Bristol’s techno and deep house scene. The two-day festival takes place on Fernhill farm in the heart of Somerset, surrounded by idyllic countryside infused with the thudding base of underground house and techno. Being the only eco-friendly techno and house festival in the UK, combined with the promise of a painstakingly curated lineup and great venue, it’s one for the calendar.
HOME for Christmas embodies what the festival is all about. Fresh music, mixed by DJs who like to let the music speak for itself
‘HOME for Christmas embodies what the festival is all about,’ says Terry. ‘Fresh music, mixed by DJs who like to let the music speak for itself and not play around with it too much. We have a heavy focus on local talent, always making sure we have the best locally-based technicians alongside only one or two headliners. We collaborate heavily with other brands to always bring a good cross-section of what Bristol has to offer for house and techno.’
