Bristol’s Worm Disco Club has been bubbling below the surface for years. Bringing globally-sourced grooves, tropical percussion, jazz, psych and more to venues across Bristol and beyond, Worm Disco Club deliver a fun party atmosphere that sits in that sweet spot between a live gig and clubnight – to those who know where to find them.

In Bristol, they’ve hosted DJs from Portugal, Brazil, France and Amsterdam and bands and live acts from Colombia, Cuba, Nigeria, Morocco, Brazil, Holland and Germany, as well as contemporary UK acts such as The Heliocentrics, The Comet is Coming and Sons of Kemet.

In the coming months, they’ll be taking good care of room two at Motion during Mr Scruff’s all night long takeover, as well as bringing The Mauskovic Dance Band to Fiddlers for Halloween; and they’ve just announced that they’ll have the pleasure of hosting Ezra Collective’s Joe Armon-Jones once more early next year.

Worm Disco Club have hit boiling point – about to spill over into the forefront of Bristol’s music consciousness

Combining all that with a monthly residency on Noods Radio and running Glastonbury festival’s new jazz venue, The Wormhole, plus with plans up their sleeve for a record label in the near future, Worm Disco Club have hit boiling point – about to spill over into the forefront of Bristol’s music consciousness.

Worm Disco Club is run by passionate trio Jackson, Jake and Nathan. ‘We have so much going on and what we do comes from a place of passion and desire to stand out’ Nathan tells us.

‘We are ambitious and work hard in between our jobs to organise all the stuff we have going on and between all of these events, the Glastonbury stage and potentially starting a record label next year, it feels like an exciting – albeit challenging – time for us!’

They’re celebrating their 5th birthday this Saturday night at Fiddlers with an all out party featuring Brighton record label and shop Mr Bongo, Kongo Dia Ntotila – led by Congalese-born musician Mulele Matondo, global sounds-inspired DJ Poly-Ritmo and Worm Disco Club DJs.
