Roots Factory have curated an hour long sun-soaked reggae mix for Nitelife, right on cue for the start of summer.

Selector collective and record label Roots Factory is helmed by Kamaha (aka Frankie Dread) and Brigadier JC, who have been pushing the roots scene for the past decade.

Producer and label manager Brigadier JC originally hails from France, settling in the UK via Ireland, where he set up Roots Factory in 2007, before bringing it across the choppy waters to London and Bristol in 2012 with friend and co-label boss Kamaha.

Taking inspiration from Channel One sounds of the 70s, but with a keen eye on the new roots generation, his productions pay homage to the originators with a forward-thinking edge

Bristol-based reggae producer Kamaha – who tenderly birthed this mix for us – is a Frontline resident and roots scene regular. He’s just dropped a track with Conscious Sounds’ Digi-Tal imprint, with more upcoming releases in the works.

The pair of them will be bringing their Roots Factory sounds to Love Saves the Day, bringing with them soundsystem veterans Jah Screechy and Speng Bond

The pair of them will be bringing their Roots Factory sounds to Sunday’s Brouhaha / Hold Tight stage at Love Saves the Day, bringing with them soundsystem veterans Jah Screechy and Speng Bond, for an original set fuelled by the mighty Lion Pulse soundsystem.
